China's Record Trade Surplus Risks Global Economic Crisis, Analysis Warns

China makes and sells a huge number of things to other countries, more than it buys from them.

This difference is called a trade surplus.

In 2025, China's trade surplus was almost 1.2 trillion dollars.

That is the largest trade surplus ever recorded in history.

Some experts say this is too much and could cause a big problem for the whole world economy.

When China was smaller, other countries could easily buy everything it made.

Now China is so big that it might run out of customers.

If China's economy suddenly slowed down, countries that trade with it would be hurt too.

A magazine called Foreign Policy says China should slowly change its economy to avoid a crisis.

This would be better for China and for the rest of the world.
