All States Join Centre's Digital Agriculture Mission, Except West Bengal and Delhi
The Indian government's Digital Agriculture Mission, which aims to use technology to help farmers and make farming easier, has been joined by all states and territories except West Bengal and Delhi.
This mission will help farmers get better access to things like loans, seeds, and markets.
However, some experts worry that West Bengal and Delhi might miss out on these benefits if they don't join the mission.
All states and Union Territories, except West Bengal and Delhi, have joined the Centre’s Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM).
The mission aims to digitally identify farmers and map farm activities for efficient policymaking and easier scheme design.
It seeks to create digital public infrastructure for agriculture, fostering collaboration among states and stakeholders.
The mission has created over 73.7 million farmer IDs and geo-referenced over 558,000 villages as of 25 October.
Experts warn that Delhi and West Bengal risk falling behind in India’s digital agriculture revolution by not joining the mission.
