September Visa Bulletin: Green Card Updates & Potential Delays
The U.S. government has released the September Visa Bulletin, which tells people when they can apply for a green card.
Spouses and children of green card holders will see a shorter wait time, with the deadline moving forward.
However, there may be delays for some work-based visas as the government expects to reach the yearly limits.
This means that the number of visas given out may be limited.
The bulletin also reminds Diversity Visa (DV) 2025 selectees that they must apply before the end of September.
September Visa Bulletin advances the F2A category for green card holders' spouses and children.
F2A category advances two months, from April 1, 2025, to June 1, 2025.
Demand is rising for both family and employment-based visas.
Visa Office anticipates hitting FY-2025 category limits in employment-based classes.
Diversity Visa (DV) 2025 selectees' eligibility ends on September 30, 2025.
