This decision came after officials cancelled her OBC caste certificate.

The officials said the certificate had been filed in the wrong jurisdiction.

Raut represented ward 191, which includes Shivaji Park and Dadar West.

She won that ward in a close election.

She received 13,236 votes, beating Priya Sarvankar Gurav by 167 votes.

The decision is a setback for her political group, Shiv Sena (UBT).
