Modi Urges Swadeshi Choices After India’s 7.8% Growth

India’s economy grew by 7.8% from April through June.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated people for this result.

He said the growth happened even though the world is facing wars, crises and supply-chain problems.

Modi asked people to choose Indian products and services when possible.

He also asked them not to take foreign leisure trips or hold weddings abroad unless needed.

He said people should buy gold only when it is necessary.

These choices could help India save foreign money and depend less on imports.

Modi believes this can help build a developed India for young people by the country’s 100th independence anniversary.

He also criticized people he said were spreading pessimism about India’s progress.
