Bengaluru Civic Workers Detained During Protest Outside Vidhana Soudha

Several Bengaluru civic workers held a protest outside Vidhana Soudha.

Police detained some of the protesters on Thursday.

The workers are part of a union connected to the All India Central Council of Trade Unions.

They wanted Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda to apologize for recent remarks.

They also said their wages are often paid late.

The workers said they are denied ESI and PF benefits.

They accused contractors of exploiting them.

Their union president said the police action went against the right to peaceful protest.
