Sealdah Station Opens Central Gate to Ease Taxi Rush
Sealdah Station in Kolkata is the busiest train station in India, with about 15 lakh people passing through every day.
Many of them have trouble finding a taxi after they leave the platform because the station is so crowded.
To fix this, the railway officials opened a new Central Gate that lets mail and express train passengers get in and out of the station without fighting through the crowds.
Before this, passengers had to use four main gates, which caused a lot of confusion.
The new gate should make it easier and faster for people to get a taxi and continue their journey.
Sealdah Station handles over 15 lakh passengers daily.
Passengers often struggle to find taxis due to crowded station gates.
Eastern Railway has opened a new Central Gate for mail and express train passengers.
The gate offers a dedicated, hassle‑free entry and exit point.
Previously, four main gates (Prafulla Dwar, North Gate, Main Gate, South Gate) caused chaotic cross‑flows.
