Missile Debris Damages Riyadh Kindergarten and Medical Complex Amid Houthi Attacks

Saudi Arabia said pieces from missiles stopped by its air defences damaged a kindergarten and a medical complex in Riyadh.

Authorities reported no immediate casualties.

Reports differed on how many missiles were intercepted: one account said two were aimed at Riyadh, while another said three were intercepted in total.

The Houthis claimed attacks on Riyadh’s airport and missile launches at places in Najran and Khamis Mushait.

Reports about damaged aircraft at the airport did not agree and could not be independently checked.

Some flights were delayed or cancelled.

Diplomats, schools and some businesses took safety precautions, and the United States told its citizens to be especially careful.

The fighting has also displaced more than 200,000 people in Yemen since July, according to UN figures.

The sides disagree about who controls some areas, and those claims have not been independently verified.
