USA Cricketer Akhilesh Reddy Receives Eight-Year Ban
Acronym: ICC stands for International Cricket Council, the group that watches over cricket worldwide.
A player from the United States named Akhilesh Reddy was caught trying to cheat in a cricket tournament in Abu Dhabi.
He tried to make a teammate give away extra runs, told another player to do the same, and then deleted messages that could prove he was cheating.
Because of this, the ICC said he must not play cricket for eight years.
The decision was made by a special panel of three judges.
Reddy has played a few international games for the U.S. but now he is banned from all cricket.
USA cricketer Akhilesh Reddy banned for eight years by ICC Anti‑Corruption Tribunal.
Reddy found guilty of attempting to fix matches, encouraging a teammate to concede runs, and deleting evidence during the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Suspension backdated to November 21, 2025, the date of provisional suspension.
Tribunal comprised of Michael J Beloff KC, Justice Kate O'Regan, and Lloyd Mhishi.
