Political Parties Lag in UP BLA Appointments
In Uttar Pradesh, India, political parties are having trouble appointing enough Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for an important election update called SIR.
BLAs help parties manage voting booths and get people to vote.
The biggest parties like BJP, SP, BSP, and Congress have all missed appointing BLAs in many areas.
The BJP, which is in power, still has over 2,600 booths without BLAs.
The Congress has almost no BLAs in 17 districts.
The Election Commission has asked parties to appoint BLAs so the SIR work can go smoothly, but many parties haven't done this yet.
The deadline to submit voter forms is December 11, and the Congress says they will appoint BLAs at 95% of booths by then.
Political parties in UP have failed to appoint enough Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for the Election Commission's SIR exercise.
The BJP, SP, BSP, and Congress have all missed appointing BLAs in various districts.
