Optiemus Shares Surge After India Mandates BIS Screen Protector Standards

India has introduced new rules for smartphone screen protectors.

The products will need to meet government-approved standards starting April 1, 2027.

Only approved factories will then be allowed to make or sell them in India.

The rules may improve the quality and safety of screen protectors.

They may also reduce India’s dependence on imported accessories.

Optiemus Infracom makes a locally produced screen protector brand called RhinoTech.

Its shares rose 14% after the announcement.

The company hopes the new rules will create more business for its products.
