Delhi Gold Surges ₹2,000 as Global Bullion Prices Fall
Gold and silver became more expensive in Delhi on Tuesday.
Gold rose ₹2,000 for every 10 grams, while silver rose ₹730 for every kilogram.
However, gold and silver prices in international markets went down a little.
Their futures prices also fell because some traders reduced their bets.
Oil prices rose because people worried about supplies after a US-Iran ceasefire ended.
Investors are still buying gold through funds, which is helping support prices.
Expectations about US interest rates and central-bank buying are also affecting the market.
Experts say gold and silver could continue moving up and down in the short term.
Delhi gold of 99.9% purity rose ₹2,000 to ₹1,58,800 per 10 grams, extending gains for a second straight session.
Silver climbed ₹730 to ₹2,40,730 per kilogram after holding at ₹2,40,000 for two sessions.
Global spot gold fell 0.5% to $4,394.57 per ounce, while spot silver declined by slightly more than 1% to $65.08.
Gold and silver futures declined as demand weakened and traders reduced their positions, while crude oil futures rose to ₹8,132 per barrel.
Analysts cited buying, investment demand, central-bank purchases and softer Fed-rate expectations as support, but warned of near-term volatility.
