L&T Wins Major Middle East Battery Storage Order
Larsen & Toubro has won a large clean-energy project in the Middle East.
Its renewables business will develop three battery storage facilities.
Together, they can store 6 gigawatt-hours of electricity.
Each facility can store energy for four hours.
The batteries can save extra clean electricity when demand is low.
They can then release it when people need more power.
The project also includes equipment and cables to connect the batteries to the electricity grid.
L&T says liquid cooling will help make the systems safer and last longer.
Larsen & Toubro’s renewables business secured an order for three battery energy storage systems in the Middle East.
The projects will provide a combined storage capacity of 6 gigawatt-hours, with four-hour storage at each facility.
The scope includes grid interconnections, pooling substations and underground cable networks.
Liquid-cooling technology will be used to support higher power density, safety and longer operational life.
L&T classified the contract as a major order worth ₹5,000–10,000 crore, but did not disclose its exact value; reports differed on the stock’s immediate movement.
