Polling Booth Disrupts Athletes' Practice at Thane School
A school in Thane has a new athletics track that cost a lot of money to build.
During elections, a polling booth was set up right on this track, which is where the students practice for their sports.
This has caused problems for the students who are supposed to start competing soon.
The school has asked the officials to move the polling booth, but nothing has changed so far.
The school and the parents are upset because the officials did not talk to them before setting up the booth on the track.
A polling booth tent has been set up on the newly built athletics track at Holy Cross Convent Girls' School in Thane, disrupting athletes' practice.
The athletics track, built at a cost of ₹80 lakh, is used by 125 students for regular practice, with upcoming competitions starting January 17.
The school management and parents are upset that the municipal administration did not consult them before setting up the polling booth on the track.
Despite verbal instructions from the municipal administration to move the polling booth, it remains on the track, causing inconvenience to the athletes.
The school has a strong sporting record, with three girls recently winning gold medals at the national level.
