Bengal Plans Ayodhya-Style Ram Temple
A group in West Bengal is building a big Ram temple that will also be a place to learn about Bengali culture.
This temple is inspired by a famous Bengali version of the Ramayana story written by Krittibas Ojha.
The leader of the group, who is also a politician, says they have been working on this project for a long time and it's not about elections.
They want to show how Ram is important in Bengali culture.
They recently measured the land where the temple will be built, which means the project is starting for real.
A grand Ram temple and heritage centre is being built in Shantipur, West Bengal, inspired by Krittibas Ojha's 'Shri Ram Panchali'.
The project is led by the Shri Krittibas Ram Mandir Trust, with BJP MLA Arindam Bhattacharya as its president.
The temple aims to preserve and promote Bengali cultural heritage, particularly the tradition of the 'Bengali Ram'.
The trust has been working on the project since 2017, with the final land survey recently completed.
Bhattacharya emphasized that the temple construction is not an election project, but a cultural initiative.
