Punjab's Aam Aadmi Clinics Boost Pregnancy Care
Punjab has started a special program in its Aam Aadmi Clinics to take care of pregnant women.
These clinics offer free check-ups and tests, including ultrasounds, which usually cost a lot of money.
The program has been very successful, with about 20,000 pregnant women visiting the clinics every month.
The government has also set up a system where high-risk pregnancies are identified and given special care.
This has made it easier for women to get the care they need close to their homes, without having to travel far or wait in long lines.
The program is part of Punjab's effort to make sure every mother gets good healthcare.
Punjab's Aam Aadmi Clinics have seen a surge in pregnant women visitors, with nearly 20,000 women visiting every month for comprehensive care.
The state government has empanelled 500 private diagnostic centers to provide free ultrasound services, saving families an estimated Rs 1 crore in out-of-pocket expenses in 120 days.
The clinics offer essential antenatal check-ups, including routine and critical tests, and issue referral slips for free ultrasound services.
Around 5,000 high-risk pregnancies are identified monthly, allowing for continuous tracking and timely referral to higher medical facilities.
The initiative has improved patient experience by providing consultations within minutes and access to services without financial burden.
