Himachal Pradesh Launches Green Initiatives to Boost Forests
The government in Himachal Pradesh started two new programs to help forests.
One program, 'Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana,' is about planting trees on empty forest land and giving jobs to local groups.
The other, the 'Green Adoption Scheme,' lets companies help by planting trees too.
The government is also hiring new forest helpers called Van Mitras.
They will protect the forests and teach people about them.
The goal is to have more trees, help local people, and keep the forests safe.
The government also launched a book, souvenir, and app to help with the program.
Chief Minister Sukhu launched the Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana and Green Adoption Scheme.
The Van Samvardhan Yojana focuses on planting fruit trees and generating income for local communities.
