US Advances Family-Sponsored Visa Dates for India
The US Department of State has made some big changes to family-sponsored visas for people from India.
They've moved up the dates for several types of visas, like F1, F2A, F2B, and F3.
This means that people waiting for these visas can apply sooner.
For example, the F2A visa, which is for spouses and children of permanent residents, has been moved up by more than a year and a half.
However, the F4 visa, which is for brothers and sisters of US citizens, hasn't changed at all.
Other visas, like EB-4 and religious worker visas, have seen small advancements.
This is good news for many families waiting to come to the US.
The US Department of State advanced several family-sponsored visa slots for India in the August visa bulletin.
F2A visa slots were advanced by more than 1.5 years, and F1 visas by almost a year.
F1 final action date moved from February 1, 2018, to December 15, 2018; filing date from January 1, 2019, to December 1, 2019.
F2A final action date advanced from January 1, 2025, to July 22, 2026; filing dates set to current.
F4 visas saw no changes in filing or final action dates.
