Uttar Pradesh Scheme Supports Dignified Marriages for Economically Weaker Families
Uttar Pradesh has a program to help families who cannot easily afford wedding expenses.
The program brings couples together for organized mass marriage ceremonies.
So far, 17,758 couples have married through it during the 2026-27 financial year.
The government wants to help 72,448 couples this year.

The Mukhyamantri Samuhik Vivah Yojana has solemnized marriages for 17,758 couples in Uttar Pradesh during financial year 2026-27.
The state has set a target of 72,448 mass marriages during the current financial year.
Of 72,787 applications received, 20,042 were approved and 7,245 were found ineligible after scrutiny.
Pilibhit recorded the most marriages at 1,271, followed by Shahjahanpur with 1,063.
Each eligible couple receives Rs 1 lakh, with verification increasingly supported by e-KYC and digital certificates.
