Political Tensions in Kerala Over Office Space
In Kerala, India, there was a fight between a local leader from the CPI-M party and a new leader from the BJP party.
The BJP leader, R Sreelekha, wanted the CPI-M leader, V K Prasanth, to give up his office because she thought her office didn't have enough space.
The CPI-M leader said he had been using the office for seven years and that the BJP leader should follow the proper rules to ask him to leave.
At first, they argued, but then they shook hands and decided to be friends again.
The BJP recently won many seats in the local elections, which is a big change because the Left parties had been in charge for a long time.
CPI-M MLA V K Prasanth and BJP councillor R Sreelekha had a dispute over office space in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation building.
Sreelekha requested Prasanth to vacate his office due to inadequate facilities in her own office.
Prasanth stated that his office has been functioning for seven years and that the proper procedure requires an eviction notice from the Corporation Secretary.
The BJP won 50 of 101 divisions in the city, ending four decades of Left stronghold.
The two leaders eventually shook hands and resolved the issue amicably.
