Nagaland DTO Building Collapses After Rain-Triggered Landslide in Tuensang

A government transport office building in Tuensang, Nagaland, collapsed after heavy rain caused a landslide.

Officials had already found the building unsafe.

They ordered it to be demolished and closed the office before it fell.

This meant people could not get driving licences, register vehicles or pay vehicle taxes there.

The rainy weather also caused landslides and sinking ground nearby.

Forty-nine families had to leave their homes for safety.

No one died because the building was empty.

Relief camps were opened at Tuensang Town Hall for families who were affected.
