Hyderabad Bird Atlas Documents Bird Species in 2025 Surveys
Imagine scientists and volunteers are like bird watchers in Hyderabad, counting different types of birds.
They created the Hyderabad Bird Atlas (HBA) to track the birds.
They did two big surveys, one in winter and one during the monsoon.
In winter, they saw lots of birds that come to the city.
In monsoon, they saw different birds that breed during that time.
They found over 136,000 birds and 218 different kinds!
The data is being analyzed to learn about the birds in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Bird Atlas (HBA) completed two seasonal bird surveys in 2025.
The surveys documented over 136,000 birds and 218 species.
The winter survey recorded 195 species and 70,187 birds.
The monsoon survey documented 166 species and 62,811 birds.
WWF India and Deccan Birders are involved in analysis.
