Himachal Horticulture Minister Reviews ADB-Funded HPSHIVA Project Progress
A big farming project called HPSHIVA is happening in a state called Himachal Pradesh in India.
It is paid for by a group called ADB, which helps countries with money for development.
The person in charge of fruits and farming there, Minister Jagat Singh Negi, checked on how the project is going.
Farmers are getting help to plant fruit trees and grow crops.
The first part of the project wants to develop an area of 3,000 hectares, which is like a very big park.
So far, work has been done on about 2,612 hectares, and trees have been planted on 1,543 hectares.
More trees will be planted this rainy season, and the rest in winter because fruits like plums and persimmons grow then.
More than 10,000 farming families will get help from this project.
Two builders were told off because they were working too slowly.
The people in charge said they will not pay the builders until they send more workers.
Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi reviewed progress of the ADB-funded HPSHIVA project in Himachal Pradesh.
Phase-I targets 3,000 hectares; about 2,612 hectares are developed and plantation is complete on 1,543 hectares.
About 1,000 hectares will be planted this rainy season; remaining winter crops like plum and persimmon will be completed by January-February 2027.
Phase-II survey is underway: about 2,500 hectares identified and DPRs for about 1,200 hectares submitted to ADB for technical clearance, with tendering starting from late August.
