North Korea Downgrades London Mission Over Camp Sanctions

North Korea has reduced the seniority of its diplomatic mission in London.

It did this after Britain placed sanctions on a North Korean children's camp.

Britain suspects the camp was connected to Ukrainian children being moved to Russia-linked locations against their will.

North Korea says the accusation is untrue and damages its relationship with Russia.

Its ambassador was recalled, and a lower-ranking official will temporarily lead the mission.

The Songdowon camp has been used for youth activities and government propaganda.

Separately, North Korea changed its defence minister.

Kim Song-gi replaced No Kwang-chol in that job.
