Indore Tomato Prices Fall Sharply Amid Bumper Arrivals

Indore Tomato Prices Fall Sharply Amid Bumper Arrivals

Tomatoes have become much cheaper in Indore’s wholesale markets.

Prices have fallen from about ₹10 to ₹3–5 per kilogram.

Many trucks are bringing tomatoes from several parts of India.

Farmers have grown a large crop, but there are not enough buyers for all the tomatoes.

This makes it hard for farmers to cover the costs of picking and transporting them.

People buying tomatoes may see lower prices in shops.

More tomatoes are expected from parts of Madhya Pradesh and Shivpuri.

That could keep prices low.

However, market prices can change in the coming days.
