Sundance Film Festival 2026: Final Utah Edition
The Sundance Film Festival is a big movie event happening in Utah from January 22 to February 1, 2026.
It's the last time it will be in Utah because next year it will move to Colorado.
This year, there are 90 new movies to watch, and some famous people like Natalie Portman and Ethan Hawke might be there.
The festival is also honoring Robert Redford, who started it, by showing some of his movies and having a special event.
You can watch some of the movies online starting January 29.
After the festival, some movies will go to theaters, but it might take a while for others.
The 42nd Sundance Film Festival runs from January 22 to February 1, 2026, in Park City, Utah, marking its final year in the state before moving to Boulder, Colorado in 2027.
The festival features 90 premiering films, including notable titles like 'The Invite,' 'I Want Your Sex,' 'The Gallerist,' and 'The Moment,' with celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Ethan Hawke, and Olivia Wilde expected to attend.
Robert Redford's legacy will be honored with a tribute gala and screenings of his films and restored Sundance classics like 'Little Miss Sunshine' and 'American Dream.'
Online streaming of competition films will be available from January 29 to February 1, with single film tickets starting at $35.
Some films, like 'The Moment,' will have immediate theatrical releases, while others may take weeks to over a year to reach theaters or streaming services.
