Brookfield REIT raises Rs 3,500 crore via QIP
Brookfield India Real Estate Trust, a company that owns buildings, raised Rs 3,500 crore from big investors.
They did this by selling new units to these investors.
Many investors wanted to buy these units, and the total demand was much higher than what was sold.
The money raised will be used to buy a big office campus in Bengaluru called Ecoworld.
After this purchase, Brookfield will have a very large portfolio of buildings, making it one of the biggest in the country and Asia.
This is the third time they have raised money this way since they started selling shares to the public.
Brookfield India REIT raised Rs 3,500 crore through a QIP.
The issue was oversubscribed with total demand exceeding Rs 10,900 crore.
Proceeds will be used to acquire Ecoworld, a 7.7 million square feet office campus in Bengaluru.
Post-acquisition, the REIT's portfolio will exceed 32 million square feet with a gross asset value of over Rs 53,000 crore.
This is the third institutional placement since the REIT's initial public offering.
