IIT-BHU Duo Wins RISE 2026
Two students from IIT (BHU), Varanasi, won the top prize at a big competition called RISE 2026.
They made a small, easy-to-use microscope that doesn't cost much.
This microscope can be used in places like classrooms or outside, unlike big, expensive ones that stay in labs.
The competition had many teams from different IITs showing their cool inventions.
Other winners made things like a tool to help doctors, a wrist helper for physiotherapy, and a way to recover copper from old electronics without harming the environment.
The winners got money prizes to help them continue their work.
A handheld micro-imaging device designed by IIT (BHU) students won the top prize at RISE 2026 hosted by IIT Hyderabad.
The device aims to make advanced microscopy portable and affordable, suitable for classrooms or field settings.
The top prize of ₹5 lakh was awarded to Arkya Jyoti Ghosh and Supratim Mahapatra for their innovation.
Other notable projects included a tool for automating SYNTAX score computation, a lightweight wrist exosuit for physiotherapy, and an eco-friendly copper recovery process.
The competition drew over 100 applications from IITs nationwide, with 21 teams pitching their projects on campus.
