UN Security Council Votes on US-Backed Gaza Stabilization Plan

The United Nations Security Council is voting on a plan for Gaza that was supported by former US President Trump.

This plan aims to help rebuild Gaza after the fighting and calls for an international group of soldiers to help make sure weapons are removed.

It also suggests that there could be a way for Palestinians to have their own country in the future, but only if certain conditions are met, like reforms and rebuilding.

Israel's leader, Prime Minister Netanyahu, is against the idea of a Palestinian state and wants Gaza to be disarmed.

Hamas, a group in Gaza, is against the resolution and doesn't want to give up its weapons unless there's a clear path to statehood.

Russia, another important country, might not agree with the plan.

However, the Palestinian Authority supports the US plan, which makes it more likely to pass.
