Bhopal Home Guard Jawans Await Promotions As Regular Staff Advance
Nearly 6,000 Home Guard workers in Bhopal are waiting for higher ranks.
They work as honorarium employees and receive fixed salaries.
In June, the government promoted 272 permanent employees in the department.
The Home Guard jawans were not included in those promotions.
The director general had asked local officials to start the promotion process.
Some sources said those officials did not complete the required work.
DIG Amit Sanghi said the work would be finished by the end of October.
He said promotions would not greatly increase their pay, but the higher rank could improve their personal standing.
