Australia Increases Visa Thresholds, Minimum Wage, and Superannuation
Australia is changing how it pays workers and manages taxes starting July 1, 2025.
The minimum wage for low-paid workers will increase.
If you are a skilled worker coming to Australia, you might need to earn a higher salary to get a visa.
Additionally, the amount employers pay into their workers' retirement funds (superannuation) will increase.
Businesses will also face adjustments to the National Minimum Wage, registration costs, superannuation, energy bill refunds, and reporting obligations.
These changes are aimed at updating the economic landscape.
Australia's skilled visa income thresholds are increasing, effective July 1, 2025.
The Core Skills Income Threshold will rise to $76,515, and the Specialist Skills threshold will reach $141,210.
The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will also increase to $76,515.
The National Minimum Wage will increase by 3.5%, and the superannuation guarantee rate will rise to 12%.
