Central Govt Employees' Unions Press for Pension Reforms in 8th Pay Commission
The Indian government has set up the 8th Central Pay Commission to decide salaries and benefits for its employees and retirees.
However, employee unions are worried that the rules for this commission might not include 69 lakh pensioners and their families.
They want the government to change these rules to make sure everyone gets fair treatment, including reducing the pension commutation period and extending pension revision to all pensioners.
