Shivakumar Questions Deportations, Alleges Electoral Roll Manipulation in Karnataka

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said some applications were being used to try to remove people from voter lists.

He accused BJP workers of targeting minority and other voters with these applications.

He said some workers had withdrawn applications after admitting involvement.

These claims are attributed to Shivakumar in the report.

He also asked why people alleged to be illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were not being deported.

Shivakumar said the Union Government is responsible for border security.

He said the Election Commission required checks before eligible voters could be removed.

He said the state government would investigate alleged wrongdoing and act according to law.
