Delhi Police Busts Bangladesh-Linked Cyber Fraud Syndicate

Delhi Police says it uncovered a group accused of stealing money using fake credit-card offers.

The victim saw an advertisement on social media and was contacted by someone pretending to be a bank representative.

The victim was persuaded to install a fake application and share personal and card information.

While the victim was kept on a phone call, the suspects allegedly used the details to make purchases worth Rs 2.68 lakh.

Police traced some of the purchases to mobile phones delivered in several Indian cities.

They said the group had links to Bangladesh and planned to send phones there.

Two people were arrested during raids in Lucknow and Kolkata.

Police recovered 50 phones, including 45 new, expensive handsets.
