Huawei Plans New AI Chips as Nvidia Gap Persists

Huawei is a company that makes computer technology.

It says it will release two new chips for artificial intelligence next year.

The first chip, called the Ascend 960DT, is planned for early in the year.

The second, called the Ascend 960PR, is planned for later in the year.

Huawei says both chips will come sooner than it first expected.

It also plans to make more chips in 2028 and 2029.

These chips are designed to provide computing power for AI tasks.

However, their stated performance is still below that of Nvidia’s best chips available today.
