CBI Books Railway Official, Company Employees Over ₹10.9 Crore Bribery

The CBI has opened a bribery case involving a railway official and two company employees.

The company was working on towers and optical fibre for the North Western Railway.

It submitted bills totaling ₹10.90 crore for this work.

The CBI says the employees sought faster and favorable approval of the bills.

Investigators allege that a railway official demanded money in return for helping process them.

The alleged payment was supposed to be arranged through the company’s Mumbai office.

The CBI says the arrangement could have unfairly benefited the accused and caused a loss to Indian Railways.

These are allegations, and the case has been registered under several corruption-related charges.
