Indore Records 30,696 Dog-Bite Cases in Eight Months

Many people in Indore were bitten by dogs this year.

A hospital recorded 30,696 dog-bite cases from January to August 2026.

In August alone, 4,024 people went there after dog bites.

That is about 130 cases every day.

The victims included adults and 634 children.

Dog bites made up most of the animal-bite cases recorded that month.

The city says it sterilised about 17,000 to 18,000 stray dogs in two years.

Experts say a bite or scratch should be washed immediately with soap and running water.

People should then see a doctor quickly for advice about rabies treatment.
