England to Host Next Three WTC Finals, India Misses Out
Imagine a big cricket championship called the WTC.
The group in charge, the ICC, chose England to host the final games again for the years 2027, 2029, and 2031.
India wanted to host, but the ICC picked England because England had already hosted the games successfully before.
Even though India is a huge cricket fan country, the ICC considered whether fans would still come if India wasn't in the final, and they also considered the complication of having Pakistan in the final if it was held in India.
So, England will host the games again, keeping things consistent from previous years.
ICC awarded England hosting rights for the World Test Championship (WTC) finals in 2027, 2029, and 2031.
The BCCI's bid to host the WTC final in India was rejected.
England previously hosted the WTC finals in 2021, 2023, and 2025.
The ICC cited England's successful hosting of previous finals as the reason for the decision.
Concerns about India's potential fan turnout and the Pakistan factor might have affected the decision.
