Namo Bharat Corridor to Get 110-MW Captive Solar Plant

Namo Bharat Corridor to Get 110-MW Captive Solar Plant

The Namo Bharat train corridor will get much of its electricity from a new solar power plant.

The plant will produce 110 megawatts of electricity.

It is expected to provide nearly 60% of the corridor’s power needs.

The project will cost about Rs 450 crore and should be ready within 24 months.

Solar electricity could lower the corridor’s yearly power bill by about 25%.

NCRTC will buy the electricity at a fixed price for 25 years.

The project may also reduce pollution and carbon dioxide emissions.

It is intended to make public transport cleaner and more reliable.
