Odisha Launches Flood Damage Survey, Announces Compensation for Households
The state of Odisha in India is checking how badly the recent floods hurt homes and farms.
The government will look at each house and decide how much money to give people whose homes were damaged.
Families with fully ruined houses can get up to 1.2 lakh rupees.
Farmers who lost crops will get money per hectare of land.
The government also plans to give money to families who lost loved ones in the floods.
They are doing this to help people recover after the big floods.
Odisha government has begun a joint survey to assess flood damage across 22 districts.
Compensation up to Rs 1.2 lakh will be paid for fully damaged pucca houses; Rs 6,500 for partially damaged pucca houses; Rs 4,000 for kutcha houses; Rs 8,000 for fully damaged huts.
Farmers will receive Rs 8,500 per hectare for rain‑fed crop loss, Rs 17,000 for irrigated land, and Rs 22,500 for perennial crops.
