Northeast's First Highway Emergency Landing Strip
The Northeast is getting its first emergency landing strip on a highway.
It's in Assam, on the road between Dibrugarh and Moran.
This 4.2 km strip can be used by both regular planes and fighter jets if the nearby Dibrugarh airport is not available.
The government is building this to help the military and for emergencies.
A big leader, like the Prime Minister or Defence Minister, might come to open it in February.
They're also planning more of these strips and helipads in other parts of Assam.
