IAS Officer Arrested, Suspended Amid Community Support

An IAS officer named Rajendrakumar Patel was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in Gujarat for alleged money laundering.

After his arrest, the Gujarat Government put him on deemed suspension.

The court decided to keep him in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate until January 7.

The Patidar community, including leaders like Varun Patel, held a rally in support of Rajendrakumar, alleging that he is being unfairly targeted.

They submitted a memorandum to the local Mamlatdar, seeking a law to check marriages after elopement and to stop biased behavior towards Gujarati officers.

The community believes that similar actions should be taken against all collectors involved in granting non-agriculture use applications.
