Mettur Dam Reaches 90 Feet as Cauvery Flow Rises

Water in the Cauvery River has increased near Hogenakkal.

This happened after extra water was released from dams in Karnataka.

The flow reached 10,000 cubic feet per second on Sunday.

Several waterfalls at Hogenakkal were also flowing strongly.

Mettur Dam’s water level reached about 90 feet.

The dam stored 52.995 thousand million cubic feet of water.

Coracle rides remained banned because the river was flowing strongly.

Water is planned to be released from the dam for farming in the delta on Tuesday.
