Indian Students Prefer France for Education
Many Indian students are now choosing France for their higher education instead of the United States.
France offers a special program called APS, which allows students to stay in France for 12 months after graduation to find a job or start a business.
This program is similar to the OPT program in the US but is seen as more accessible and less restrictive.
Students can apply for a full employment permit if they find a job that pays at least 1.5 times the national minimum wage.
Many students, like N. Shreya and Ravi Kumar, find France's education system and work rules more secure and welcoming.
The APS system was made even better by laws passed in 2016, which now include not just master’s graduates but also doctoral degree holders and professionals from specialized schools.
Indian students are increasingly opting for France for higher education due to growing restrictions in the US.
France offers the Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour (APS) program, allowing graduates to stay for 12 months to find work or start a business.
The APS program is similar to the US OPT system but is considered more accessible and less restrictive.
Graduates can convert their visa to a full employment permit if they find a job paying at least 1.5 times the national minimum wage (2,700 euros).
