KSRTC Implements Protocol After Gavi Bus Breakdowns
KSRTC is making sure buses going to Gavi are in good shape.
This is because some buses broke down and left tourists stranded in the forest.
Now, buses will be checked at a special depot.
Tourists will then get on special buses that have mechanics.
Even though these new rules are in place, a bus still broke down recently.
This caused delays for the passengers.
Passengers often face challenges due to the breakdowns, especially with limited phone service and the presence of wild animals.
KSRTC has implemented a new protocol for buses going to Gavi.
The move follows a breakdown on April 17 where tourists were stranded for hours.
BTC buses must now report to the Pathanamthitta depot for inspection and passenger transfer.
Designated buses with trained mechanics will be used for the Gavi route.
Another breakdown was reported on Friday despite the new measures.
