Govt to Roll Out e-NAM 2.0 to Boost Inter-State Trade
Imagine a big online marketplace for farmers to sell their crops.
The government is updating this marketplace, called e-NAM, to make it easier for farmers in different states to trade with each other.
The new version, e-NAM 2.0, will include features like automated bidding and help with transportation and other services.
This should help farmers get better prices for their crops and reduce food waste.
Currently, the amount of trade happening between states on this platform is small, and this new version hopes to change that by making it simpler for farmers to sell their products across state lines.
The government plans to launch e-NAM 2.0 to enhance inter-state agricultural trade.
e-NAM 2.0 will include features like automated bidding and logistics support.
Since its launch in 2016, e-NAM has facilitated trade worth Rs 4.41 lakh crore.
Inter-state trade on e-NAM has been a small portion of the overall trade.
The platform currently integrates over 1,500 wholesale markets across India.
