Kolhan University Crisis: Delayed Exams, Missing Certificates, Corruption

Going to university is like finishing a big set of puzzles.

At the end, you get special papers that prove you finished, and you need those papers to start the next thing, like a job or more school.

At Kolhan University in Jharkhand, India, students say the exams keep getting delayed, so the special papers never arrive on time.

One student got into a big science program but could not join because he was missing a paper.

Another student said almost everyone has a paper stuck or an exam cancelled, and this is normal there.

Students also say some people at the university ask for money to get things done, which is called bribery and is not fair.

Students are angry and have marched and protested many times over the years to ask for change.

In 2023 they filed an official complaint, and in 2025 they went to the streets five times.

But so far, things have not got better for them.
