Owaisi Rejects Namaz at Any Rebuilt Babri Masjid Site
Asaduddin Owaisi criticized a speech by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Bhagwat said that Hindus should not believe Muslims have no place in India.
Owaisi said these words sounded different from the RSS’s older writings about minorities.
He described the speech as being aimed differently at people around the world and RSS supporters.
Owaisi also said Muslims would not pray at a rebuilt Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya.
He asked Bhagwat to read writings by important RSS-linked thinkers in public.
Owaisi said this would show people what the RSS really believes about minorities and democracy.
The disagreement happened during wider political arguments over foreign-travel permissions for Indian leaders.
Asaduddin Owaisi criticized Mohan Bhagwat’s Hindu-Muslim unity remarks delivered in New York.
Owaisi called Bhagwat’s comments rhetoric for global audiences and a dog whistle for RSS members.
He said Muslims would not offer namaz even if a Babri Masjid were rebuilt on land allocated in Ayodhya.
Owaisi accused the RSS of maintaining a public position that differs from its foundational ideology toward minorities.
He challenged Bhagwat to publicly recite writings by V.D. Savarkar, K.B. Hedgewar, and M.S. Golwalkar.
