Sembcorp Secures 150 MW FDRE Project from SJVN
Sembcorp, a company that builds and runs green energy projects, has won a new contract to provide 150 megawatts of power.
This power will be part of a larger project by SJVN, a government company, that needs reliable energy even during peak times.
To fulfill this, Sembcorp will use a mix of solar panels and large battery storage systems, totaling about 750 MW.
This is a big step for Sembcorp in India, as it adds to their growing clean energy portfolio.
They have a large pipeline of solar and wind projects, along with battery storage, ready to help India meet its demand for clean energy all day and night.
This is similar to another project Sembcorp won earlier this year from SECI.
The deal with SJVN is for 25 years, and they plan to start operating the project within two years of signing the final agreement.
This project will help India get more dependable renewable power.
Sembcorp has secured a 150 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project from SJVN.
The project involves integrating solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) totaling approximately 750 MW.
This build-own-operate project is part of SJVN's tender for assured peak power from renewable energy sources with storage.
Sembcorp's renewable energy capacity in India now exceeds 7.6 GW.
The project is expected to be operational within 24 months of signing a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN.
