Coimbatore Corporation Launches Rooftop Garden Initiative
The Coimbatore Corporation is building a rooftop garden to make the city greener.
They're also planting many trees to fight the 'heat islands' where it gets extra hot.
The corporation has already planted over 70,000 saplings.
They're focusing on areas with more heat, especially in the north zone.
To help people get involved, they're hosting a gardening expo.
The expo will teach people how to plant their own rooftop gardens.
They are also planting flowers and palms along roads and the Noyyal River.
There is a 45-acre forest created on reclaimed land.
This is a long-term plan to make Coimbatore a better place to live.
